IN THE GARDEN

HELLO Spring!

Happy 1st day of Spring! Yippie Hooray! Hands down, my favorite time of year. I choose to ignore that it’s 31 degrees and everything is still snow covered. Somewhere under that white slushy stuff are my crocuses, tulips and daffodils. I am an outside kind of a gal. Springtime, for me, boosts my spirits and gets me planning my annuals for the gardens. I also think of Spring as a new beginning to the year. Here in the east, many of us are so over the cold mornings, the barren landscape, and the piles of dirty snow.  We all need a new beginning at some point in our lives and spring for me is a good place to start.

Flowers make me super happy. I plan my patio gardens so when I stand at the kitchen sink, the window view is filled with bright and cheery colors. You would think I was crazy if you saw what I do. I plant, run in the kitchen, make sure it looks just right from the window, then run back outside and re-adjust if needed. At times I’ve done that 4 or 5 times before I get it just right! I never had a kitchen window to enjoy the view with until we moved here 7 years ago. You’d better believe I’m taking advantage our garden view.

Whatever springtime means to you… I hope you enjoy your 1st day of it and that you have many more nice days ahead.
